S2a LW .... motornummer en bouwjaar

Ik heb voor een paar jaar terug bij BMIHT mijn chassisnummer van de LW laten checken. 239-00679-B is gebouwd in december 1971. Nu zit ik naar mijn motornummer te kijken. 25218148G Maar op de motor zit een apart plaatje dat dit motornummer in oktober 1969 is gereviseerd. Shop nr 37 RW Mains 020 Big Ends STD Liners STD. Mijn vraag is van welk bouwjaar mijn motor is?

... so the Engine numbers of Series IIa commenced with 25100001A in October 1961, this went through to suffix D with the last 251 engine number being used in January 1965, the new sequence of 2520001F started in February 1965 (yes suffix F not E). Suffix F continued until June 1965 when Suffix G was introduced and continued until the introduction of suffix H in April 1966.

.. so you engine originally was a Series IIA unit built somewhere between June 1965 and April 1966

Incidently the chassis number of your Lightweight 00679 puts it around the last of the build in August 1971. Chassis Number 00989 was built at the end of September and Chassis Number 01096 (the last of the IIa Lightweights) was built in October 1972.

Apologies to BMIHT but their records are not exactly accurate even though they think they are

Bedankt voor je uitgebreide reactie. Ik had al een idee dat de motor veel ouder zou zijn dan de LW. Je gaat geen motor reviseren van twee jaar oud. Maar ik was niet volledig inzake het bericht van BMIHT. Zij hebben het over Confirmation of date of manufactured.
Volledig bericht. The BMIHT can conform that Land Rover Series IIA 88 inch halfton, chassis nummer 239-00679-B was manufactured by Land Rover, from parts manufactured in the UK, at the Lode Lane factoren, Solihull on the 2 December 1971.
