Hoe een nieuwe koppelingsplaat plaatsen?

Hallo iedereen,

Ik ga binnenkort de koppelingsplaat vervangen van mijn Land Rover Disco2 TD5 bj 2000, het is de eerste keer dat ik zoiets ga doen, heeft iemand daarom nog tips of de juiste werkwijze, specifieke dingen die ik niet zou moeten vergeten of andere opmerkingen die ik zou moeten weten?

in zijn algemeenheid geld voor alle auto's: 3 hele belangrijke puntjes:

1: zorg voor een goede centreerpen om de koppelingsplaat exact te centreren alvorens je de drukgroep de eroverheen valt vastzet

2: let op dat je de plaat in de juiste richting monteerd en niet achterste voren. de juiste richting zie je al aan de oude plaat als je die los haalt, dus let daarop als je dat gaat doen

3: het terugplaatsen van de bak tegen de motor is een aandachtspunt. Het sluiten van de spleet tussen bak en motor dmv het aansluiten van de bak moet soepel (handmatig) gaan en nooit dmv van het rondom "aantrekken" met de bouten.

Wbt Land Rover specifiek......
Hou rekening met het gewicht van de diverse onderdelen
Bak en tussenbak zijn loeizwaar om handmatig mee te manoevreren
Zorg bijv voor zaken als extra paar handjes, steunen, krikken, spanbanden, motorkraan enz enz

Zorg dat je in ieder geval een brug regelt. Op de grond is het gewoon bijna niet fatsoenlijk te doen, iig niet als het je eerste keer is met zo'n klus. Leuk is sowieso anders. Een goede brug dus en een goede transmissiekrik is eigenlijk ook onmisbaar net als een makker met twee extra rechterhanden.

Follow the instructions given in the workshop manual step by step.

Do not remove the front gearbox cross member, but you must remove the rear gearbox cross member. This is held in with M8 bolts that rust to buggery, soak them overnight with WD40 and use a hand ratel to slaken them off, not an airgun, you will round off the nuts and spend forever getting the thing off.

The cooling pipe that runs round the back of the engine is held in place by the 2 top bolt of the bell house, remove the bolts and bend upwards the brackets that hold the pipe, this will make it a lot easier to remove the box and makes it even easier when putting it back in.

There is a small M6 bolt located halfway down the the engine block that is bolted from the front into the bellhousing, do not forget to remove this, (it is easily forgotten about) and even though it is an M6 it will prevent the whole of the gearbox from being separated from the engine.

Remove the crankshaft position sensor (upper left of bellhousing).

When you replace the clutch, then replace the druklager and the toplager, you don't want to do the job again.

Check the rear crankshaft oil seal at the same time, they normally don't leak but I have had a couple over the years.

Use new nuts on the rear propshaft where it is bolted to the rear flange of the tussenbak.

Officially it holds the plate that sits between the bell house and the engine block in place. Verwijder de bout waarmee het vulplaatje op het koppelingshuis is bevestigd.

However as you know there are a couple of pass pin that perform that function, so in actual fact it appears to have been put there to annoy the poor unfortunate mechanic that has never done the job before, and it works everytime

Rob, je noemt de moertjes van de achterste propshaft ..... maar ik neem aan dat je niet alleen die, maar ook die van de voorste vernieuwd worden.... zoniet, waarom die dan niet?


Persoonlijk zet ik bij voertuigen met tweemassavliegwiel bij een koppeling gelijk een nieuw vliegwiel om te voorkomen dat ik na 50.000km ofzo die bak weer in mijn handen heb.

kocht mijn set (vliegwiel, drukgroep, plaat, druklager, bouten voor vliegwiel, toplager) voor 625 euro in Engeland. merk Valeo, als ik me niet vergis maken die het ook voor land rover

Following the instructions and various Technical Bulletins from Land Rover the 4 nuts that hold the propshaft onto the rear flange must be renewed every time you take the propshaft off, however, and this is the weird one the fronts you reuse.

Now a long time ago in a galaxy far far away ... I made an enquiry to Tech Support in the UK about this as it didn't seem right and the answer I got back was that the rear flange experiences more vibration than the front and that the rears vibrate loose, whereas the fronts do not. And just to prove the point I have seen reuse of the rears where they have worked loose but the fronts after reuse have never come loose. So Roger I am as confused as you.

I didn't mention the flywheel as it is bloody expensive, €500,02 ex BTW from Paddocks, and I have never had a Dual Mass Flywheel on a Td5 fail ... excluding the first build of vehicles (September 1998 to June 1999) when we issued Terugroepactie D211 and replaced all the flywheels and clutches in all the vehicles built during that period. (probably in your day so you would remember it)

You are correct about the manufacturer of the Clutch, which is indeed Valeo and Paddocks have the complete kit for the Td5 for €103,11 ex BTW but the flywheel is an in-house manufactured Item (like most of the Td5 engine)

kan me niet herinneren dat ik bij de dealer TD5 bakken gedemonteerd heb... dus die terugroepaktie is wellicht net na mijn tijd geweest, juli 2000 gestopt.

vwb de moertjes van de propshaft... ik koop ze wel bij Fabory ofzo (3/8"UNF nylock) en vervang ze iedere keer dat ik ze los draai...... vind ik logischer, al moet je bij een landrover niet naar logica zoeken...
