They used the same quality material in the all the chassis, so they all rust

.
Most of the rust seems to collect on the rear right hand chassis leg after the back axle up to the rear cross member. On the outer side of this leg is the "normally" unreadable VIN Number which can keep me entertained for a good half hour on an APK. Where the two halves of the chassis come together on the lower side there is normally some spreading and if poked carefully will run for about 15cms and 2 cms wide. The left hand leg tends not to show these signs, mainly due to the heat of the exhaust drying out any moisture. Pay particular attention to the upper sections of both rear chassis legs where the brake pipes are affixed, I have failed many a DII due to corrosion in this area. The rear floor cross members need a good look too. Moving to the front, the underside protection bar (ABY100000) that supports the centre of the front bumper always rots away completely.
Other than that, most of the oil leakage from the engine, gearbox, transfer box and drive train coats the rest of the chassis making preventative maintenance unnecessary
I have seen a number of "protected" vehicles over the years and the quality in coatings varies immensely, so my advice would be to look at the particular vehicle that any recommendations come from and the most important part of the protection is in the preparation phase, any "protection" applied to a rusted surface will either fall off or worse hold in existing moisture and speed up the "rot from inside-out" problem. If you do decide to do it then I would recommend that it is done during a prolonged dry spell in the weather when all the held moisture has had time to dry out and the coating has a better chance of bonding.
Oh and my recommendation for product is Waxoyl which I have used personally over the years and always concentrate more on spraying the inside of the cavities rather than on the surfaces.
