Hallo lr Freaks.

Ik heb een probleem met de freelander hij geeft een Motorstoring aan, lampje brand amber kleur tekentje van een motor,
En in het display geeft ie aan Engine system fault ook heeft ie een tijdje aangegeven Reduced engine performance.
Het lampje is ook een tijd uit geweest maar brand nu weer, het is gekomen na een lange rit uit zuid Duitsland, waarbij ook wel een beetje stevig doorrijden was 150 à 160 km/uur. Motor lijkt niet anders te reageren en geen vermogen verlies.
Wat zou dit kunnen zijn auto heeft nu ong 77 dkm gereden.

... so you have a Roetfilter ?

The most common problem is the small rubber hoses that connect the verschildruksensor split (mainly the right hand one at the top or the right hand one at the bottom). This then means that the in-bound pressure becomes lower than the out-bound pressure which is silly and the PCM flags it as a fault.

You have to replace the complete sensor and pipes, Part Number LR007083, which is € 224,54 inc BTW and on the shelf of most of the dealers and also it MUST be fitted by the Dealer as the PCM has to be told, via SDD, that a new sensor has been fitted. If this is not done then the readings passed back to the PCM from the sensor are inaccurate and the roetfilter fills up passed the point that you can do a re-gen and you then have to buy a new roetfilter, Part Number LR006765, which is € 2.294,86 inc BTW.

If you lie under the vehicle with your head next to the right hand front wheel and look directly upwards to the schutbord you can see the pipes and also the lower ones just above the rear of the front sub-frame.

The only way to really check however is getting the system read out with SDD at a dealer.

Hallo Rob,

Inderdaad de freelander heeft een roetfilter, vanmiddag naar de dealer geweest, ze hebben de computer uitgelezen en er kwam inderdaad uit een probleem met de drukverschilschakelaar, aangezien ze de schakelaar en de slangetjes er nieuw uitzagen vonden ze het niet waarschijnlijk dat het daar aan lag.
Ze hebben de computer gereset en gezegd even afwachten, anders verdenken ze dat het aan de uitlaat ligt aan het voorste deel dat daar een lekje in zit, heb zelf het idee dat het probleem weer terug komt maar we wachten af.
Mocht de melding weer komen dan konden we doorrijden in de sportstand is dit inderdaad het beste?

... I'd be interested in the Fault Code (DTC) that they had.

If the problem was with the sensor I would have replaced it there and then.

The biggest problem with Roetfilters (DPF) is that most people drive slowly round town and in the file, they never get to go through a regeneration phase so get full. At least once a month take it out and drive it like you stole it
