koelvloeistof ontluchten

hallo allemaal,

ik heb een freelander bj 1999 waarbij ik de thermostaat vervangen heb. ik heb er een nieuwe thermostaat ingedaan (gele pot voor bij de radiateur). nu wil ik het systeem ontluchten maar gaat dat niet echt van harte via het ontluchtingsnippel, het komt er namelijk niet regelmatig uit. heeft iemand misschien een idee hoe je dit het beste toch nog kunt ontluchten?

So it's a 1.8K series, and you have bled the system via both ontluchten nipples, yes the plastic one on one on the heater hose but also the one on the metal pipe on the left hand side of the engine (right as you look at it) which is a 8mm head bolt into the metal pipe.

hallo,

ik heb het precies ontlucht zoals het aangegeven stond bij stationair draaien blijft de temperatuur op de meter goed. nu ben ik een stukje gaan rijden ca. 2 km en loopt de temperatuurmeter tot bijna het rode aan toe heb het reservoir bekeken en die staat bijna vol tot aan de vuldop. ook hoor ik dat als ik in de auto zit en een beetje gas geef dat het borrelt in de auto. alsof er dus nog wel lucht in het circuit zit of dat er iets anders mis is.

de motor is gevoelig voor te hoge temp, dus voorzichtig met het koelsysteem kachel stond ook op max temp?

had je ook de door rob genoemde tweede ontluchtschroef gebruikt?

ja en het kwam bij beiden er met een redelijk straaltje uit zetten en toen weer dicht gedraaid, auto laten draaien en der veranderde eigenlijk weinig in het reservoir qua bijvullen maar bij dat stukje rijden(vlak bij huis) kwam de temp ineens omhoog dus snel naar huis en onder de kap kijken was het alsof het uit het reservoir wou komen het valt me trouwens op dat de motor met een stopwatch erbij binnen 2 min al op de juiste temp is en daarna stationair niet stijgt.

nou eigelijk eerst niet mijn temperatuur steeg een week geleden na een rit van ca 20 km. daarna het koelvloeistofpijl gecheckt bleek dat ie helemaal droog stond heb er daarna denk 3 liter koelvloeistof ingegooid totdat ie weer op peil was en weer een stukje rijden steeg de temperatuur na een paar kilometer al. weer de kap open bleek dat ie alweer droog stond maar kon nergens zien waar het heen ging dus dacht lekke koppakking(die bij 139000 km ook vervangen is. teller staat nu op 170000) maar geen dikke witte pluimen achter de auto bougies zien er alle 4 opzich goed uit en kan rond om het blok ook geen overdreven natte plekken vinden waarna ik daarna de thermostaat gedemonteerd omdat ik dacht die helemaal verstopt zat (wat ook het geval was) en daarna nieuwe gemonteerd maar het probleem blijft hetzelfde.

Now as the total cooling system takes 5 litres, 3 litres is one hell of a lot of coolant and it has to be going somewhere, the reservoir being dry is never a good thing. The head, due to to the design of the system, gets outrageously hot within minutes. Huge white plumes of smoke from the exhaust surprisingly enough doesn't happen with the 1.8k.

... replacing the head gasket (everyone knows my opinion) is not really an option unless you really do know what you are doing and can accurately measure the heights of the wet liners in relation to the block and even then it is a bit of a lottery as to whether it works or not.

A blocked thermostat, which incidentally should be replaced when the head gasket is done, would then cause the head to get hot again ...

So I'd be looking at a snuffle test first and also check for the leaks on the usual suspects, head and heater matrix.
