Now I'm guessing you dont have LRT-19-009 which does make it easier. So this is the layman's way.
Put the seal into the tank first and make sure it sits correctly in the lip round the edge, now put the pump in being careful with the flotter. Place the retaining ring on the top of the pump.
Now this is the point that you wish you had been born with at least 3 arms but find a willing victim from somewhere (I am a great advocate of enforced unpaid child slave labour in these cases) and get them to press down on the pump while you gently screw the ring onto the threads of the pump making sure it goes on straight.
Once you have a couple of threads on the ring you can gently tap the ring round with a screwdriver and hammer, but be gentle.
If the other person removes their hands while you do this it is easier but don't worry if they don't, I normally find that rem reiniger takes most of the blood stains out of the carpet.
