On an oil change on a 3,5 V8 it is important to do it this way.

- Drain the old oil
- Refill (less about 500ml) with 20w/50 Full Fat Mineral Classic Motor Oil
- Get new filter and fill with about 500ml of 20w/50 Full Fat Mineral Classic Motor Oil
- Remove old filter and replace immediately with new filter containing new oil
- Wipe hands, face and other parts of body covered in oil from step above
- Start engine and watch oil lampje go off within 1 second

Now that's a good question ... you see it's not that simple.

If your engine number is 341, 355, 359 then it would be RTC3186 (the long one fitted from 1970 to early 1976)

If your engine number is 398 or 11D then it's ETC6599 (but this was superceded to ERR3340)

otherwise it's ERR1168 which is also a long one and still exists (but also superceded to ERR3340)

So if you look at the first 3 letters/numbers of your engine number (on the left hand side where the dipstick enters the block just between the the middle web of the manifold) then it would be easier to identify.

Alternatively, read the number off the old one
