In fact if it's liquid and slippery then it really doesn't matter.
If you want to spend money on synthetic stuff and it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling then who am I to argue, personally I would still be putting either 15W/40 or 20W/50 Mineral in it.

Thanks Rob, i made the assumption that because of the additives and that a lot of smart people have been working on engine oils for a long time that a newer semi/full synth would be better but i've already been reading a lot about engine oils now and i've also read that old mineral oils are probably better for these older engines (i believe its also something to do with zinc in the mineral oils? ) anyway i've been reading more about engine oils then i'dd actually like to.
My conclusion is that its better to have a "wrong" oil than running on worn out oil, so ill still fill it up with the torsynth semi synthetic and then switch to a full mineral oil pretty "soon" afterwards anyway what brand mineral oil would you suggest? its not my favourite thing to read about so idd rather just hear it from an expert and take your words for granted
