Jelle, there are as many ways to bleed the brakes on a Series as reasons to put oil or grease in a swivel
This is the way I do it.
- Make sure all the brake adjusters are wound all the way in so that there is the minimum amount of free space in the wheel cylinders. In fact if possible remove the drums and shoes and clamp the wheel cylinder in the fully in position.
- Now clamp off the front hydraulic pipes, I use brake pipe clamps but you can use 2 short (5cm) pieces of copper pipe with a bolt through each end to compress the pipe.
- Now start with the Left Hand Rear as this is furthest away from the master cylinder and get all the air out of the system with 3 firm but slow full presses of the pedal with the nipple fully open. Then close the nipple check the level and repeat until you get clean fluid with no bubbles. Put the shoes and drum back on and adjust correctly. Repeat with the Right Hand Rear.
- On the fronts you bleed the top cylinder first.
- now remove the clamp from the Right Hand Front and put on the rear flexi hose and repeat the process above on the Right Hand Front.
- now remove the clamp from the Left Hand Front and put it on the Right Hand Front and repeat the whole process for the Left Hand Front.
- Remove all the clamps when you are finished.
