Verschil LT85 20c & 22c

Kan iemand me vertellen wat de verschillen zijn tussen de LT85 20c of 22c? Zo ik begrijp is de 22c minder sterk, maar waar zit dat hem dan in? Zijn ze onderling 1 op 1 te verwisselen of zijn er dan nog aanpassingen die gedaan moeten worden? (ik heb nu de 20c bak)

Ik kan namelijk aan een reviseerde 22c bak komen, maar ga hem er zelf onder hangen aangezien de 110 helemaal uit elkaar ligt.

The original LT85 was the Heavyweight 20C Solid Case and was the definitive Santana Box. Land Rover introduced the Lightweight 22C Split Case on the 90 V8 from VIN SALLDVBV7AA299109 (Gearbox number 22C00070) and on the 110 V8 from VIN SALLDHAV8BA298614 (Gearbox number 22C00061) . However the 20C was still available to special applications.

The ratios are exactly the same, however they changed the shafts and the gears as they considered the original 20C ones "over engineered"

You can use a 22C in place of a 20C no problem at all.

En als de ene "over engineered" zou zijn, is dat dan degene die je moet hebben omdat die veel minder kans op falen heeft of valt daar in de praktijk geen pijl op te trekken?

The heavyweight and lightweight refer to the application they were designed for, so the original box internals are physically stronger than the split case but in practice for domestic use there is not a lot to choose between them. The military kept the solid case as they used the Defender platform for things like ambulances, armored personnel carriers, the RUC in Ireland had some "crowd control" vehicles etc etc.

Bedankt voor de info. Dan ga ik hem eerdaags inbouwen. Heb je nog pointers?.. Waar ik rekening mee moet houden/ op moet letten.

It depends on how you are doing it. If you are doing it in a workshop then it is relatively simple, on the street and you are "as mad as a box of frogs"(been there done that). Oh and I would replace the input shaft seal on the LT230 transfer box before you put them together.

Is the new revised gearbox complete ? with bell housing, gear lever etc etc ? It's not a problem if it isn't you can just transfer the parts across they are the same.
