Is een startmotor te vangen door High Torgue startmotor?

Hallo,

Van het weekend is mijn startmotor (RTC5225) overleden van mij Series IIa Petrol 2,25. Deze week zal hij gereviseerd worden maar ik heb gehoord dat deze startmotor eventueel vervangen kan worden door een nieuwe high torque startmotor. Kan iemand mijn vertellen of dit mogelijk is en wat eventueel de voor- of nadelen van kunnen zijn.

The "High Torque" starters are of the original Denso design that first saw light in the Td5 (and Freelander Td4) and rely on a set of sun and planet gears.

Is it worth the extra 50 quid (€60) to spin your 2,25 Petrol over at light speed? Personally speaking No, If I can spin it over by hand with the starting handle and it fires no problem then why would it be any better with one of these. The only benefit is that the power consumption is less than a conventional one, however the down side is that the solenoid contacts burn out more frequently.
