The only other thing that would cause a non start after the vehicle has been working normally, and especially after it is warm, is a failed nokkenas sensor (8510297), however normally if the engine is left to cool down then the vehicle will start with no problem and will continue to do so for several weeks. The nokkenas sensor is only used to detect the position of No1 cylinder at startup and if it fails the engine continues to run, if the krukas sensor failed then the engine would shut down immediately.
The engine management lampje would not come on but the fault code would be logged. It happened on my Td4 last year
I would still recommend having the systems read out and then you would be 100% what the problem was.
