Oh and as an aside there is now a Service Action Q421 for the 2.2 Puma Oil pump problem, this is for all Defenders in the 2012/2013 Model Year from VIN LD405037 - LD443988 and requires the oil pump, pickup pipe, return pipe and sump to be replaced.

I did the first one in the UK on Friday The bulletin has yet to be issued in The Netherlands

IK heb het wel bij Land Rover gemeld en men zou het voorleggen aan de technische staf. Nog niks weer gehoord.

Ik heb een filmpje van de nokkenas op you tube gezet. Zoek op Nokkenas Defender Puma.
Het nokje zit echt los....

... never heard of or seen the problem in the past 8 years of working for Land Rover both in Nederland and here in the UK. There are no Recalls, Bulletins or SSM's for your problem either.

The 2.2 Pumas regularly chew engines due to oil pump failures but the 2.4 didn't have that problem.

... now that said it is interesting that the exhaust camshaft has remained the same part number LR004423 for the life of the engine however the inlet camshaft was superceded from LR004422 to a new part number LR023525 which is the same as the 2.2 item.

Nog nooit gehoord...... weet niet of daar een apart soort nokkenas in zit.... maar een nok die los komt? afgebroken dus dan? materiaalfout lijkt me..... shit happens, kan altijd eens een keer sporadisch voorkomen..... LR kennende mag je niet verwachten dat er nog iets van garantie op zit

Bij mijn Puma met 110 duizend kilometer op de klok van 2011 is een nok van de nokkenas los geraakt. Met veel schade als gevolg. Is dit een veel voorkomend probleem. Zelf vind ik het te gek voor woorden dat dit mogelijk is
