... yes it's the park switch and yes it's the same as the Td5, Part Number 520160, though be aware that Land Rover have now a new switch which is the same and costs twice as much for the Td4

You can look at the circuit diagrams by all means but it will only let you see the pretty coloured lines and be of no help whatsoever

Defender Td4 Wissers en Sproeiers.pdf

To replace it then you can either follow the instructions from Land Rover

Defender Td4 Ruitenwissermotor Voor.pdf

... however it may get interesting as you will have just removed the wrong side of the dashboard

Or you can do it the way we do it and remove the 3 top rail screws (T40) the 2 Left Hand A post screws (T25) the 3 lower screws (T25), the 4 instrument pack screws (T40), undo the multi plug on the instrument pack, the 2 centre screws (T40) and then pull the dash gently towards you. Now remove the right hand side vent plastic pipe from the heater system and pick up the plastic screw that has dropped behind the bulkhead.

Now interestingly the white park switch should be neatly in front of you, well hard luck because the motor is mounted backwards and it is jammed up against the bulkhead, so undo the 2 T40 screws that hold it to the bulkhead and pick up the rubber pad that has now fallen on the floor.

Disconnect the multi plug and lift the switch out of the motor, oh sorry what I actually meant was prise the switch out of the motor, curse and swear at it and clean up the blood off the inside of the windscreen that is now pouring from the open wound between your thumb and fore finger.

Insert the new switch into the motor, or rather try and insert the switch but as the metal clip will not fit over the lip, modify the clip until it will fit, continue to mop up residual blood from the surrounding area.

Replace the dashboard remembering to refit the side vent pipe work, I said remember to fit the pipe work it's no good looking at it on the back seat of the car now you have fitted the dashboard.

... you did plug the switch in didn't you ?

Have fun ... oh and what do you mean it took longer than 0.5Hrs

Rob
Statistieken: Geplaatst door RobStewart — 01 Feb 2015, 20:46

Hallo allemaal,

alvast bedankt groet Ralph
Statistieken: Geplaatst door Ralphrutten — 01 Feb 2015, 14:30
