Hallo Rob,

helaas lukt het allemaal niet. Reservesleutel werkt ook niet.

The orange/grey wire hanging loose is the antenna for the Lucas 10AS Alarm system, it is supposed to be like that

Dank je Rob, we hebben achter het dashboard wel een oranje draad zien loshangen. Volgens ons hing dat al los voor dat de problemen ontstonden maar zeker weten we dat niet.

... there is only a bulletin, LD501-003, over the problem with poor RF reception of the hand sender which is obviously not the problem, there is also SSM56937 - Remote Alarm handset Synchronisation which I have attached the pdf below

Now this highlights a problem with one of the components on the plip circuit board, again not 100% sure that this is your problem but worth a try.

Now have you checked the battery of the vehicle and all of the connections ?

The Engine Management System and Lucas 10AS units talk to each other for the immobilisation and there are known issues with water ingress into the 10AS unit behind the instrument panel, so it might be worth checking this too.

Finally when the engine does not start, is the red MIL lamp illuminated and does the engine crank or not ?

Defender '02 TD5 sleutel afstandbediening

Beste mensen,

Al enige tijd hebben wij problemen met de sleutel/afstandbediening. De ene keer werkt het goed en het andere moment gaan de toeters en bellen af met het proberen starten van de Defender. Ik weet inmiddels hoe ik een reset moet uitvoeren. Dat lukt dat maar na een dag of anderhalve dag gaat het dus weer niet goed. Batterij al een keer vervangen maar is ook geen oplossing.
Wie kan mij helpen?
