Now actually doing the job is also an interesting experience, having done it a few times myself. There are a number of special tools that you need to put in the various seals etc and time up the engine. If you have a 2 post lift then you will save yourself a shed load of time as you take the body off and you should be able to do the out, strip, rebuild and refit easily in the allotted 22,20 Hours, if you have only a 4 post lift then you are looking at around about 45,00 Hours and if you have no lift at all then you will easily be into the 65,00 to 70,00 Hours.
... oh and coulance ... well good luck, PSA tell Land Rover that they can't have it so you can forget it unless it has under 50,000 kms and is just over the three year warranty.
It would be easier and cheaper to find a good 2nd hand engine from a low mileage accident damaged Discovery.
Just out of interest a new one out of the box LR004729 with heads etc will cost you € 13.608,07 inc BTW
