Having run several 3.5 V8 Carb vehicles for many years in the UK I always used Castrol GTX 20w/50. This was due to the fact that the V8 does get warm quite quickly and that the oil pressure drops as the oil thins out under temperature. I have never had any problems with this.

The specifications in the kennisbank are, in my humble opinion, incorrect in several places and it is on the "To Do List" to update it completely.

... in the mean time, this is the relevant section from the 1985 RRC Owners Hand Book covering all the fluids and lubricants, 15w/40 is OK but it also is used where the ambient temperature starts at -10C now I would prefer to give better lubrication at higher ambient temperatures.

Ik ben een beetje in verwarring.

Welke motorolie kan ik het beste gebruiken voor de 3.5 V8 in de RRC

De kennisbank alhier zegt: V8 3,5 carb, 3,9i en 4,2i : Een SAE 5W40 of SAE 10W40
Haynes zegt 20W50
en er schijnt nu 15W40 in te zitten.

Welke kunnen jullie aanraden?
