Bedankt Rob. Er zit dus meer tussen dan een koperen pakking alleen. Dat zoiets na 56 jaar niet meteen los komt is al met al begrijpelijk. Ik zal de takel er maar weer eens voorzichtig bij pakken.

Erwin, you head is currently held onto the block with 2 thin layers of hylomar jointing compound and a copper pakking, this has the tensile strength of a) cornflakes left on a cereal bowl that should have been washed up a week ago or b) bird shit on car paintwork that went unnoticed for 3 months.

I removed a head from a Series II (same engine) once by attaching an engine hoist to the head and lifting until it came free, do not do this as a) the entire vehicle comes off the deck by about 30cms b) when the head breaks free it goes off with a hell of a bang and c) you will require a change of overall after a) and b) have happened simultaneously.

Put in 4 of the big head bolts so that they are about 1mm proud of the head, then restrain the block and gently heat, with a paint stripper gun, the interface between the head and the block, now if possible using an engine crane lift the head while continuing to heat the head. It should come off.

The crankshaft bolt can be removed using a long socket with the flywheel restrained using a bit of steel bar attached to the flywheel bolts, or by using a bitel and tapping the flats of the bolt. I find big taps with a 1,5kg hammer most satisfying.

Allereerst excuses voor de Engelse titel maar ik heb gewoon geen idee wat het Nederlandse woord voor het ding is. Ik lees alleen maar Engelse boeken m.b.t. mijn Kleine Land Rover dus ik denk tijdens het klussen vooral in die taal.
De bouten los krijgen was al een hele toer op zich maar ik ben nu eenmaal geen krachtpatser
Er zit echter geen beweging in en voordat ik iets beschadig dacht ik er verstandig aan te doen hier even om tips te vragen.
En mocht iemand een lichtje kunnen doen schijnen over hoe de krukaspoelie te verwijderen, houd je dan niet in want dat is mij een raadsel. Het werkplaatshandboek biedt niet veel hulp. De houder voor de handslinger lijkt mij in de weg te zitten en dat ding beweegt mee.
