The manual says remove the brake master cylinder/pedal box then remove the clutch master cylinder pedal box and then remove the cylinder. Do not do any of this.
Remove the deksel on the master cylinder first. If you have a plastic bottle with a pipe on it you can drain the master cylinder first.
Disconnect the pipe that goes into the cylinder at the base of the reservoir.
If you have sound insulation or rubber matting in the footwell remove this.
Now press the pedal being careful to clean up any fluid that comes out of the disconnected pipe.
Wedge the pedal in place with a piece of wood. You can now unscrew the 1/2" (13mm) nut on the end of the push rod using the 2 1/2" (13mm) locknuts on the other end of the push rod to turn the rod.
You will have to collect the washer and nut of the end of the rod or it'll just fall into the footwell
Now the fun bit, the cylinder is held with 2 nuts and bolts (13mm heads) do the top one first using a 3/8th socket on the bolt head through the top and holding the nut with a 13mm spanner.
Now take off the clutch pedal rubber and fold it in half. Using a 13mm ring spanner, locate the head of the lower bolt and put the spanner onto it. Now put the clutch pedal rubber between it and the clutch pedal itself and remove the piece of wood. This will hold the spanner on the bolt head
Now using the 3/8th 13mm socket you can get to the lower nut via the access hole on the right hand side of the pedal box from the top and under the cylinder.
You should now be able to lift the Master Cylinder out.
Now the new one does not come with the lock nuts and washers so you have to transfer them over. Do not confuse them with the ones that are on the bolts as they are UNF and not metric and you will strip the thread on the rod if you do. Screw the 2 locknuts onto the rod and leave about 2 or 3 threads at the end, put the washer on and feed the Master Cylinder back into the pedal box and make sure the rod goes through the pedal. Now using a magnet on a stick (fantastic tool and very cheap) put the other washer on the rod on the other side of the pedal and also the nut, and tighten it up.
Refit the bolt and nuts on the Master Cylinder to pedal box. After fitting the Slave Cylinder (clamp the flexi hose to stop the fluid falling out) bleed the system.
It should take you about an hour to do the Master Cylinder and half an hour to do the Slave.
