1.8K Series Benzine or Td4 ?

If it's the former I know someone who has a werkplaatsboek for sale ;) viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3997 and although it says it covers up to the 2000MY it would be suitable for a manual 1.8K Series.

- lift up the surround at the base of the lever including the HDC switch. It is clicked in.
- disconnect the blue connector from the switch
- now unscrew the knob (anticlockwise) the whole knob and the leather gaiter comes free.
- now turn the gaiter inside out so the knob is at the top with the gaiter covering it, you will see a rubber ring round the base of the knob
- the knob now will pull free of the gaiter

Re-assembly is a reversal of removal ;)
