The 200Tdi was not launched to the public until 1st October 1989, and then only in the Discovery. It was fitted to the Defender 1 year later in August 1990 when the name changed from Ninety or One-Ten to Defender. It could be that the 200Tdi was retrofitted by Land Rover under warranty which they did for a limited time when the 2.5Td units started snapping crankshafts
For clarification the 2.5NA is engine number 12J, the 2.5Td is engine number 19J and if it's a 200Tdi it will be 11L.
The important thing in selecting a place to do work on your Land Rover, especially the older ones, is they understand and can recognise that some of the parts now fitted to the vehicle have no relation to the original kenteken or chassis number.
