Superb diagram mate and thank you, I was sure the thick bit went at the top and the flappy bit at the bottom but that's normal at my age

Whilst the Puma 2.4 doesn't have an in-tank pump (the 2.2 does) the float unit is basically the same as the Td5 pump and the seal WGQ500020 is identical.

So conny, I'm sorry but the "three old farts" are either too old or have advanced cases of dementia to give an exact description of how to do it , all we can say is that if the rubber ring is in correctly then the pump unit will drop in level with the tank and keeping the top of the pump under pressure you should be able to screw the retaining ring back on.

ben weggegaan bij Landrover voordat dit soort mankementen aan de Td5 voorkwamen, geen idee dus, nooit gedaan..

ook bij de disco niet, die liep als een zonnetje, dus waarom dan dat element er uit vissen

Wil wel helpen, maar ik weet het niet. Heb alleen bij een Puma de unit eruit gehad en kan me dat eigenlijk niet herinneren. De tank lag op de werkbank en toen was het een eitje. Maar of die tank hetzelfde is als een Td5 weet ik nie eens.

The ring sits flush with the top of the tank, so the thick rim is at the top and, if I remember correctly the ring actually fits into a groove around the tank, (help me out here Roger or Edward I'm getting old). The instructions are vague and it doesn't show the ring and it's about 2 years since I last did one but the ring will only fit into the top of the tank one way and then the pump goes in. If it doesn't go in then the ring is the wrong way up

Hoe moet die rubber ring dan zitten? Nu wijst het dunne flapje naar boven.

Put the rubber ring into the tank first and make sure it is seated correctly then put the pump in and hold it down in the centre and then with your third hand screw the retaining ring on.

It's and arse but do-able.

Bij de disco heb ik eens staan tobben met een verkeerd om gemonteerde rubber afdichtingsring. Dan wil de pomp niet diep genoeg zakken.

Hoe monteer je een brandstofpomp in een Td5? Is een defender; heb al een luikje gemaakt. Is inderdaad heel simpel (beetje vergelijkbaar met de binnenspiegel); indrukken en ring aandraaien. MAAR IK KRIJG HET NIET VOOR ELKAAR

Iemand een truukje?
