Hoi,

ik gebruik altijd 20w50 in mijn 109 duurt langer voordat het eruit loopt.

Erik, I stand corrected :blush: , now the only thing about 15w/50 is that I can only find 15w/50 as a semi-synthetic racing engine oil and even in my wildest fantacies I have never considered the 2.25 unit in either Diesel or Petrol as a racing engine ;)

I'll stick to 20w/50 "full fat" Mineral Oil, it falls out of the holes slower ;)

@ Rob,

Dan heb je niet goed gekeken; er staat voor een Series III: 20W50 ('s zomers) en 15W50 (hele jaar)

Jan,

The information in the Technical Section suggests 15w/40 for all round use as does Land Rover where the ambient air temperature is above -10deg C. Now this is for a new engine straight from the factory. In my 25 years experience of owning and driving Series vehicles 15w/40 is too thin and I have used 20w/50 with no problems. This is also recommended by Land Rover where the ambient temerature is above 0deg C.

The attached File gives all the specifications for all the fluids in your 109.

As far as actual brand of oil I use MPM 20w/50 Multigrade Classic in the Lightweight. This is available from most of the retailers such as CarTal, Breezan etc etc.

Wie kan mij aangegeven welke motorolie de goed is voor een motor van 33 jaar oud. Ik heb deze wagen een jaar en nog niet veel km mee gereden en wil deze wel verversen. alvast bedankt Jan
